HOW THE JEWELRY IS MADE
Jewelry by Atelje DR brand combines ancient craft techniques with a modern approach to conceptual design. All jewelry that you can see on the website is designed and made completely by hand: from the very idea to the finished piece. The two main crafting techniques I look up to are granulation and reticulation.
Contrast is above all a concept of my design, which is always present: from the choice of ancient technique in combination with the modern, combining different colors of metals, the raw appearance of reticulated metal that resembles stone, to precisely designed delicate moldings.
You can choose between ready-to-wear jewelry or bespoke / customized jewelry.
READY-TO-WEAR JEWELRY
Ready-to-wear jewelry is offered in our shop where you can choose a model you like the most. Due to the nature of our work, in which nothing is prepared in advance and everything is made directly from the start, the organic structures in the material could be of slightly different form or little granules could be putted on the piece in slightly different way.
But everything from the very point you order our piece is made with the thought of you. The thought of you while we prepare material, create the scelet of the piece, finalize it, create a certificate and pack the whole product to reach you – is made with you in our minds and our hearts. That's why the piece is only yours and from nobody else.
It's the model you order but created especially for you.
BESPOKE JEWELRY
Custom-made / bespoke jewery has other dimensions.
When you order a custom made piece of jewelry, it is created with your own personal story and everything is tailor-made especially for you: the style and the design of the piece, the techniques and metals, the number and type of the stones, how they are positioned and setted.
If you are not sure how the final piece will look during placing the order, we also make a scetch for you, so you can imagine it more easily.
Such a piece cannot be repeated because there is nobody with the exact story as it is yours.

LARA PODVRSIC
I am the founder of the brand Atelje DR Jewelry. I was born on 19 February 1990
in Ljubljana. Since I was a little girl, I have been drawn to art and creation. My life force lies in jewelry design.
In 2013 I opened my own shop Atelje in Grosuplje, Slovenia, where I explore metals and educate myself on forging them through the creation of customized jewelry.
When asked who am I and whether I consider myself more of an artist, craftswoman or business woman, I say I am all and nothing. I never recognized myself in the labels and felt good about them. Rather than a sense of security and the known, pre-determined social “identities” create only limitations in me, instead of opening the door to creative spaciousness.

JAKA TRTNIK
Master goldsmith Jaka Trtnik was born on September 27, 1978 in Ljubljana. The path that he is on today was mapped out for him in his early childhood, when he helped his father in the goldsmith workshop. Later, after finishing secondary goldsmith's school, he obtained the title of master goldsmith. In the goldsmith's profession, he has always been most attracted to the areas of hand-crafting jewelry and setting precious stones. He first acquired his knowledge at a stone setting course with master stone setter Ludvik Gorenak, and then attended the famous training with Aleksandr Sidorov in Belgium. His passion lies in the technical perfection and refinement of the smallest details, which is reflected in precisely and subtly crafted functional pieces of jewelry that combine the beauty of precious metals and gemstones.

Artistar Jewels 2018, Milano:
International event Artistar Jewels is part of the famous Milano fashion week. Among the large number of applied works of art, the jury chose the best works according to their artistic value, technical testing and research, including my two pieces.
British Vogue, 2018:
My design jewelry was chosen for a 3-month campaign in the British Vogue magazine, which introduced yet undiscovered designers around the world.
Hollywood, 2018:
I had the honour to enrich the beauty and talent of Slovenian actress Katarina Čas with the unique jewelry, made for her to wear it on a premiere of the film Terminal in Hollywood.

By recycling precious metals we want to contribute to more environmental-friendly aproach of creating a jewelry. Precious metals have an amazing property of not losing their quality trademarks even though they can be recycled over and over again.

Our jewelry is fully handcrafted from idea to the finish item exclusively with the use of fire and small tools. We don't use wax modelling or 3D printing.
